Burbujas de amor (love bubbles) by Juan Luis Guerra (República Dominicana)

Spain, Spanish, Songs, Lyrics translated into English
Burbujas de amor (love bubbles) by Juan Luis Guerra (República Dominicana)
Translation: Laura

Tengo un corazón
I have a heart
Mutilado de esperanza y de razón
mutilated of (lacking) hope and illusion
Tengo un corazón que madruga donde quiera
i have a heart that wakes (gets) up wherever it wants
¡ay ay ay ay ay!
-----------------
Este corazón
this heart
se desnuda de impaciencia
get naked of inpatience
Ante tu voz,
before (in the presence of) your voice
Pobre corazón
poor (pity) heart
Que no atrapa su cordura
that cannot trap (get) its sanity

Quisiera ser un pez
I would like to be a fish (I wish I would be a fish)
Para tocar mi nariz en tu pecera
to touch my nose in your fishbowl (1)
Y hacer burbujas de amor por dondequiera, ohhhh
and make loves bubbles wherever I want, ohhhh
Pasar la noche en vela
spend the night awake (to have a sleepless night)
Mojado en ti
wet in you (wet of you, wet with you) (2)
Un pez
a fish
Para bordar de corales tu cintura
to embroider with corals your waist
Y hacer siluetas de amor bajo la luna, ohhhh
and to make love silouettes under the moon
Saciar esta locura
to satisfy this madness
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Canta corazón
sing heart
con un ancla imprescindible de ilusión
with an indispensable anchor of illusion
Sueña corazón
dream heart
No te nubles de amargura, ay ay ay ay ay
do not get clouded by bitterness, ay, ay, ay

Y este corazón
and this heart
se desnuda de impaciencia
get naked of inpatience
Ante tu voz,
before your voice
Pobre corazón
poor heart
Que no atrapa su cordura
that cannot trap its sanity

Quisiera ser un pez
I would like to be a fish
Para tocar mi nariz en tu pecera
to touch my nose in your fishbowl
Y hacer burbujas de amor por dondequiera, ohhhh
and make loves bubbles wherever I want, ohhhh
Pasar la noche en vela
spend the night awake
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Un pez
a fish
Para bordar de corales tu cintura
to embroider with corals your waist
Y hacer siluetas de amor bajo la luna, ohhhh
and to make love silouettes under the moon
Saciar esta locura
to satisfy this madness
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Una noche
a night
Para hundirnos hasta el fin
to sink (into the water) to the end
Cara a cara
face to face
Beso a beso
kiss to kiss
Y vivir
and to live
Por siempre
forever
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Quisiera ser un pez
I would like to be a fish
Para tocar mi nariz en tu pecera
to touch my nose in your fishbowl
Y hacer burbujas de amor por donde quiera, ohhhh
and to make love silouettes wherever I want, ohhhh
Pasar la noche en vela
spend the night awake
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Un pez
a fish
para bordar de cayenas tu cintura (3)
to embroider with cayennes your waist
y hacer siluetas de amor bajo la luna, ohhh
and make loves bubbles whenever I want, ohhhh
Saciar esta locura
to satisfy this madness
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Para tocar mi nariz en tu pecera
to touch my nose in your fishbowl
y hacer burbujas de amor por dondequiera, ohhh
and make loves bubbles wherever I want, ohhhh
Pasar la noche en vela
spend the night awake
Mojado en ti
wet in you

Un pez
a fish
para bordar de cayenas tu cintura
to embroider with cayennes your waist
y hacer siluetas de amor bajo la luna, ohhh
and make loves bubbles wherever I want, ohhhh
vaciar esta locura
to empty this madness
mojado en ti
wet in you

(1) Para tocar mi nariz en tu pecera = to touch my nose in your fishbowl. In Spanish this sentence is not gramticaly right either, so I just translated it was. It should be "para tocar con mi nariz en tu pecera"
(2) Mojado en ti = wet in you (wet of you,wet with you). This sentence is also strange in Spanish. I guess he is just being poetic.
(3) Caynne/Cayenne pepper = the long, wrinkled, twisted fruit of the plant Capsicum annuum longum. Also the plant itself.

A fish loves water, so a fishtank (his love, as in this song), wants to be wet in the bowl.. True poetry, very nice song!

Big thank you Laura!

este cancion tiene dos significantes...hehehe. This is one of my favorites of Juan Luis Guerra.

I think ilusión in Spanish in this context is closer to happiness/joy, as in "me da mucha ilusión" = "I'm very glad/it makes me very happy "

A guy that I'm falling for posted this song on his wall on face book and told me to listen to it that it was for me. I always loved this song, now that I know the english to it I'm blown away. Thanks for the Translation..................

I'd rather translate" se desnuda de impatincia " as "disrobes the impatience " as if the heart were dressed in impatience before.
