(1) I dont know how to translate this. I guess that "de grana" comes from the word "pomegranade", meaning this tipically read aspect of the inner part of pomegranades.
(2) This sentence also sounds weird in spanish...
(3) Purpura means purple, but may be it has another metaphoric meaning that I dont know. South American Spanish is not exactly as the Spanish from Spain, and therefore there are many expressions that I ignore.
