Como un burro amarrado en la puerta del baile (Like a donkey tied up at the door of a ball) by El ultimo de la fila (The last one in the queue) (Spain)
Translation: Laura

Me dices "goodbye" en tu nota tan ricamente,
you say goodbye in your note so calm (without caring at all)
y no me hago a la idea de no volver a verte
and I cannot make my mind up to not seeing you again
If I would have know, sweetheart, I wouldn have put the bridge down for you
I jumped/dived headfirst and the stream swept me out
Este es mi destino,
This is my destiny
al cabo de la calle estoy;
at the end of the street I am
I feel like that thieve searching his fortune
en un callejón
in a back alley/street
por donde nunca pasa nadie.
where nobody cross
Like a donkey tide up at the door of a ball

My cousin, who has a bar, has always told me,
and I am sure he says everything in good faith
so much you have, so much you worth (what you have is what you worth), it cannot be changed
when you are of those who have not, to the galley to row (3)

Estribillo 1 (Refrain)
Y si sólo tengo amor,
And when I just have love
¿Qué es lo que valgo yo?
what is my worth?
Si tengo ganas de bailar,
when I am in the mood of dancing
¿para qué voy a esperar?
what should I wait for?
Ahora necesito amor,
Now I need love
es mi única ambición;
is my only ambition
como yo no sé bailar,
as I dont know how to dance (I cannot dance)
a galeras a remar.
to the galley to row

Baila conmigo, amor,
Dance with me (my) love
que soy muy cariñoso, guapa,
that I am very loving, beauty
que aunque muy chico y muy feo,
that although vry small and ugly
piloto de aeroplano soy.
airplane pilot I am
Llévame al cine, amor,
Take me to the movies (to the cinema), (my) love
y a comer un arrocito (4) a Castelló (5).
and to eat a litle rice to Castelló
Si total son cuatro días,
if there are just four days (life) (6)
"pa" qué vas a exprimirte el limón.
what for thinking so much.

(this is sung in Catalanish)
"Escolta", Piquer,
dame aire con tu abanico,
"que soc de Barcelona
i em moro de calor".

Estribillo 1

Y si sólo tengo “love”,
And when I just have love
¿Qué es lo que valgo yo?
what is my worth?
Si tengo ganas de bailar,
when I am in the mood of dancing
¿para qué voy a esperar?
what should I wait for?
Ahora necesito amor,
Now I need love
Porque mi novia me dejó;
because my girlfriend left me
como yo no sé bailar,
as I dont know how to dance (I cannot dance)
a galeras a remar.
to the galley to row
