Dame cariño (Give me love) by El Arrebato(The fit/The outburst) (Spain)

Spain, Spanish, Songs, Lyrics, translated into English, Latin Music
Dame cariño (Give me love) by El Arrebato(The fit/The outburst) (Spain)
Translation: Laura

Yo no sé si lo vas a entender
I dont know whether you are going to understand it
si me explico mal o bien, yo qué sé
whether I explain myself bad or good (wrong or right), what do I know!
Lo que quiero es decirte que
what I want is to tell you that
te quiero más que todo lo que veo
I love you more than everything that I see
más que todo lo que tengo y
more than everything that I have and
más que todo lo que sueño.
more than everything that I dream of

Estribillo 1 (Refrain)
Y que cuando tú me dices que me quieres
And that when you tell me that you love me
se me ponen los ojitos que parecen alfileres
my litle eyes become like needles
clavaítos (2) en los tuyos
stuck on yours
esperando ese susurro que me diga "ámame"
waiting for that whisper that tells me "love me"
Pero que luego la verdad no escucho nada (3)
But after, the truth (is) I dont hear anything
Y maldigo tu silencio y maldigo tu desgana
And I curse your silence and I curse your indifference (damm your silence! and damm your indifference!)
Niña yo no sé que pasa, pero deja que te diga
Girl, I dont know what happens, but let me tell you
alto, claro, loco...
loud, clear, crazy...

Estribillo 2
Dame cariño, niña, dame cariño
Give me love girl, give me love
Tengo derecho a que también me des cariño
I have the right that you give me love
De que me sirve desgarrarme el alma
What does it serve for to tear my soul up
por las costuras y por los pliegues de tu piel
for the seams and folds of your skin
Si después nunca me ves?...
when after you never see me?...

Estribillo 3
Dame cariño, niña, dame cariño
Give me love girl, give me love
Tengo derecho a que también me des cariño
I have the right that you give me love
Que hago con este millón de besos
What do I do with this million of kisses
que están loquitos por acariciar tu piel
that are crazzy for caressing your skin
Donde los voy a meter
Where should I put them?
Dame cariño mujer!
Give me love woman!...

Yo no sé si lo vas a entender
I dont know whether you are going to understand it
si es que me explico mal o bien, yo qué sé
whether I explain myself bad or good (wrong or right)
Lo que quiero decirte es que
What I want to tell you is that
me muero cuando apartas la mirada
I die when you look away
cuando pones un mal gesto o
when you make a bad gesture (a desapproval gesture with her face)
cuando nunca es el momento
when is never the time

Estribillo 1
Y luego si tú me dices que me quieres
And then if you tell me that you love me...
...........

Estribillo 2

Dame cariño niña
Give me love girl

Si es cierto como dices que me quieres
If this is true when you say that you love me
Acurrucate conmigo, dame azúcar, dame mieles (4)
Curl up/nestle together, give me sugar, give me good things/sweet sensations
Niña yo no soy la roca (5), necesito alimentarme
Girl, I am not the stone, I need to feed me
Dame, dame...
Give me, give me

Estribillo 2

Estribillo 3

(1) Cariño menas affection, care; but it can be more broadly used as Love.
(2) Clavados -> Clavaditos. He has used the diminutive form in this verb and furthermore, with Andalusian accent (ommiting the endings)
(3) This sentence is not gramatically correct. He is using more words that he needs just to fit the song. The right sentence would be: Pero luego, la verdad es que no escucho nada.
(4) Mieles is the plural of miel = honey. Saborear las mieles de algo = to taste the sweet part of something (ex. saborear las mieles del ésxito = to taste the sweet flavour of succes). Dame mieles, I am not sure whether this is totally correct...
(5) It should be "I am not a stone".

I'm a translator living in Amsterdam and I like what you're doing.

Your translations are good, I like the way you present them (line by line) and you have taught me some Spanish as well.

Keep up the good work!

Erik
